Prevention comes first here
Dr. Bansal is board-certified in dental public health, a specialty built around keeping disease from starting rather than treating it after the fact. That outlook shapes every checkup: we look for small problems while they're still small, and we'd rather help you avoid a filling than place one.
Our hygienists bring real depth to the chair. Pat has cleaned teeth since 1976 and has advanced training in gum therapy; Lena has been a hygienist for more than 25 years. Both are known for a light touch.
What a checkup includes
Most adults and children do well with a visit every six months. At each one, we typically:
- Remove plaque and tartar above and just below the gumline, then polish
- Measure gum health to catch early gum disease
- Check every tooth, old fillings and crowns, your bite, and your jaw
- Screen your mouth, tongue and throat for signs of oral cancer
- Take X-rays when they're due, not by default
- Talk through anything we found, with options and costs before any treatment
Between visits
Brush twice a day for two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth once a day, and keep sugary drinks to mealtimes. If something specific is hard (flossing around a bridge, a child who hates brushing), tell us. We'll show you an approach that fits.
