Dr. Ritu Bansal

Dr. Bansal has loved dentistry from the beginning, though not as a patient. She needed a lot of dental work as a child and was afraid of the dentist, and it taught her the value of a gentle touch. Today she provides conservative, necessary and esthetic dentistry for patients of every age, and she makes a point of talking through options so patients are part of every decision.

A career built around gentle care
For eleven years, Dr. Bansal was the Director of St. Luke's Dental Health Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she provided comprehensive care to children through age 18 and to people with disabilities of any age. It's demanding work that calls for patience, clear explanations and a light touch, and it shapes how she practices today.
Her training in public health means she thinks about prevention first. She would rather help you keep a tooth healthy than repair it later, and she recommends treatment only when it's needed.
Everyone has different talents. Some people play sports, some sing, some dance. Dr. Bansal can't do any of those things, but she can give a painless injection, and her patients agree.

Dr. Bansal's life outside work revolves around her husband and two daughters. She enjoys reading and gardening, and she's active in the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, school volunteering, and the Plano Senior High speech and debate team.
